Accountants for small limited companies and start-ups

Starting a company, or running one you already own, brings a filing calendar that does not forgive late entries. We take the accounting and tax work off you so your attention stays on the business.

How it works

What happens when you get in touch

We start with a free consultation to understand the company, its turnover and how you prefer to keep records. From there we agree a package and a fixed monthly fee. If you are moving from another firm we handle the professional clearance and bring your affairs up to date at no charge. Once you are set up, we run the filing calendar and come to you before deadlines rather than after them.

Questions about small limited companies and start-ups

Common questions

How much does an accountant cost for a small limited company?

Our Essential package is £60 per month for companies with turnover up to £80,000, and Essential Plus is £110 per month for turnover up to £500,000. Both are all-inclusive fixed fees covering annual accounts, corporation tax, VAT, payroll and Companies House filing, so there is no separate year-end bill.

Does a small limited company legally need an accountant?

There is no legal requirement to appoint an accountant. However, the directors remain personally responsible for filing accurate accounts and tax returns on time, and penalties apply from the day a deadline passes. Most small companies find that a fixed monthly fee costs less than the penalties and the time spent getting it wrong.

What are the filing deadlines for a limited company?

Annual accounts are due at Companies House within nine months of the accounting period end for a private company. Corporation tax is payable nine months and one day after the period end, and the CT600 return is due within twelve months. A confirmation statement is also due each year. We track all of these for you.

Can you form the company for me?

Yes. Company formation is included free with the Essential Plus package. We handle the incorporation, the share structure, the registration for corporation tax and, where needed, PAYE and VAT registration.

Can I use your address as my registered office?

Yes. Use of our office address as your registered office address is included in both the Essential and Essential Plus packages, which keeps your home address off the public register.

Do you only work with companies in London?

No. We work online with clients across the whole of the United Kingdom. Our office is in Bromley in south east London and face to face meetings are available there, but most of our clients deal with us by phone, email and video call.

Which bookkeeping software do you support?

We are partners with Xero, QuickBooks and FreeAgent, and we can also work from a simple Excel system if you prefer. QuickBooks is included free on the Essential Plus package.
